HebrewBlog Action Day is an annual not-for-profit event that aims to unite the world's bloggers, podcasters and videocasters, to post one the same issue on the same day. The aim of Blog Action Day is to start a global discussion where the diverse opinions and ideas of thousands of different people are focused on one topic.
If you'd like to be a part of Blog Action Day, you can do any or all of the following;
If you have a blog, podcast or videocast, you can commit your blog or website to participate on Blog Action Day. From August 15th to October 15th bloggers are asked to register to participate so we can track how many blogs will be involved, as well as their approximate audience size.
On October 15th participating blogs will put up a post, video or podcast about poverty. You many also wish to donate the day's ad revenue to a poverty-related charity.
We ask bloggers to try to keep their posting related to their regular blog topic so that posts are individual, suited to their audience and look at the issue in many different lights.
If you make money on your blog from advertising, affiliate earnings, donations, or product sales, we encourage you to donate the money you generate on Blog Action Day to a poverty related charity or organization.

The Global Fund
There are many major systematic reasons for poverty. The Global Fund combats AIDS, Tuberculosis, and malaria which have a crippling effect on the fight against poverty. In 2008 The Global Fund is the official Blog Action Day charity and we encourage bloggers to donate their dayÕs earnings to this organization.

Kiva.org
Kiva is one of the worldÕs first person-to-person micro-lending websites, empowering individuals to lend directly to unique entrepreneurs in the developing world. These entrepreneurs use their loans to start businesses that lift them and their communities out of poverty. It doesnÕt take much and the majority of loans are fully repaid!
